Lots happened since I last wrote so to start off where I left it....

.... the Arse actually beat Real in spain which was a bit of a shock - and even though I hate them at a genetic level they were the better team as well. They're still rubbish in the league though :)

Then on Wednesday Chelsea lost at home to Barcelona, a game I watched at the new chav local (why take a nice pub in a nice part of town and put a bunch of bedders in as tenants? Apart from the football on sky it's dead every night of the week now!) with U, S and B. Had a really good night (though drank a bit too much and missed work on Thursday with a cracking migraine) and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Chelsea lose. I'll always hate Arsenal more because of the way I was brought up, but Chelsea are rapidly moving up on the rails in that regard. Obviously, I'm just jealous..... ;)

So Thursday night after my head stopped hurting I went to see my old 5-a-side team win and move into the top 3 in the premiership. They've got a really good chance of winning the league this season and the Monday side is second in their league as well. Once I'm back from holiday I'll try and bring my newly-acquired coaching skills to both teams. I'm already owed one trophy by B for managing the Monday team to promotion last season. I'll see how many more I can get! :)

Friday was spent working very hard having one of those frustrating afternoons any Domino developer is familiar with. Finally cracked another problem before I left so I'd say I'm 80% complete now. The indexer works perfectly and the search is returning the right documents. Still needs some fine tuning though - and because I've been sensible with money since xmas I think this project will pay for my whole holiday without making me sell the car before I go. Providing it's all in one piece when I get back (not a given around here) I can sell it to give me a bit of a float while I find a job in April.

Alternatively I'll sell it to pay the fine the court has no doubt imposed on me by now. Royal Mail claim to have delivered my plea and driver's licence to the court and the police haven't turned up to arrest me yet so I'm guessing everything went ahead smoothly. I suppose I'll find out my punishment in a few days....
