Alabama 3

I've mentioned them a few times on this blog - but never before have I had anything of such high quality to share with you.

I was emailed this today by Steve, from their performance at T in the Park this year. Hopefully you can see why they really are the best live band currently going...

It's only the bass who's dubbed as far as I'm aware. And those who know the band have mentioned this to the main protaganists numerous times.

But yeah, it's all a tape... *rolls eyes*

red squirrel, i cannot believe the idiocy of anonymous' 1st comment. they play their instruments all the time mixed w/electronic loops and such, same as it ever was since Exile on Coldharbour Lane. i mean, d'ya think they raise Jim Jones from the dead each time they do Mao Tse Tsung Said? in all truth, they're using Segs' old bass loops but that's about IT.

now its preening time: after the BBC recorded them w/Kate Nash, Freebase txtd me to announce and brag, enabling me to embiggen myself at freeA3 as well as tawdry. and embiggen i did. *preens* 'it doesn't take much' LOL.

sg - GGTW has seen them live in Bristol, he plays the Bass so noticed immediately. He remains the only person I now who's seen them live and not been converted.....

red squirrel, re: 'seen them live and not been converted...' i might be wrong (it does happen occasionally) but do i detect a whiff of jealousy, professional jealousy, mind, w/all due respect (that is, all due respect i can muster up for one moved neither by their music nor live shows).

then again, i know half a dozen bass players who contacted the management, wanting to be the new Segs. unfortunately Larry went where it's ah... let's say LL went where it's most convenient for him and Steve the Engineer is now the useless and needless 2nd guitarist and the band is STILL w/o the new Segs. *sob*

as far as 'noticed immediately', anyone paying any attention since Lost Vagueness halloween show in 06, the last time Segs played a full set w/them ('up above my head' last year totally doesn't count) knew immediately, especially after the promo photos were issued for MOR I, sans Segs. who, BTW, is doing just fine producing the Chemical Bros. i chatted w/him after the RAR show in march and pleased to say i'm happy for him.

at least you enjoyed the show and didn't notice. i know too many others who didn't notice cause they were too blotto. but yes, they swear up and down they enjoyed the show (however much of it they can remember).

LOL, what is to be done w/these people?
