While walking back up the Christmas Steps* tonight I was asked to direct two large football fans (presumably to watch the Liverpool match this evening) to the 'Beefeater' in town. I wracked my brain to remember where it was and directed the pleasant chaps via the quickest route.

It wasn't until I got home that I realised that the Christmas Steps aren't quite where I thought they were, and I'd sent them in exactly the opposite direction.
