It's not often I see something entirely new that is also (in my opinion) a damn fine idea.

So I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from my favourite band this evening launching their web manifesto. In short, at the end of every month (for 12 days) they will make available 3 demo tracks under a theme (January's is 'Love') on their website - and you vote for the one you want to appear on their album due out at the end of the year. You're also invited to remix any of the new tracks. In December all those who took part will get invited to a big 12 hour gig, given a copy of the new CD, one of the chosen best remixes submitted and an unreleased DVD.

All for the cost of exactly zero pence.

Now that, boys and girls, is a brilliant idea :)

So get voting at www.alabama3.co.uk!

(Don't be put off by the fact that one of the demo tracks this month is a cover - it's traditional that at least one track on every album is a cover. Their version of Hotel California is very dark, and very funny :) )
